Help out!
As you may know, this club is completely volunteer based, everyone who is helping to run the event is doing so because they want to. That said, we can always use more help to make sure things run smoothly. There are a few ways that you can help out, some are a lot easier than others.
Help with the planning
If you have a great idea that we can put into action during the event, let us know! Drop by the planning topic on our forums and mention your idea.
We will have a planning meeting when the event date gets closer, coming to that too will also be great.
Setup
We’re using a classroom, so there won’t be all sorts of routers and switches around when we get there. A few club members are getting to the room at 10am to start setup, which is essentially setting up power bars, routers and switches so that anyone who comes in can connect. Laying out all of the equipment, configuring routers and any other beginning things all need to be done at some point.
Extra Equipment
If you have any extra networking equipment, bringing it with you would be great. For every person that brings their own ethernet cable, someone else will forget theirs. If we have extras lying around, it becomes a lot easier to make sure everything is running smoothly.
If you can bring larger things, such as a dedicated server or switch, please let us know in the planning topic as well. Having two dedicated servers is great. Having fifteen is a little too much.
