UW Gamers

Hey guys,

While I'm probably not going to be that instrumental of the planning of this, I'd like to get it started so that I can try and push some advertising early. In particular, if any of our members are still in residence I'd like to know what we can do about advertising to all the nerdy computer kids tech enthusiasts that live there.

Things that need to be figured out:
- games
- equipment
- location
- food (and when we should order it (re: early))

Well I can tell you that I booked it for the same room as last term: RCH 307. As tech rep of the UWP residence council I might be able to do some residence advertising in UWP, just tell me what to send out. Can someone put up a link to the online form for this term's LAN event?

Also, I believe that there was some discussion as to setting up a scheduled game of Tribes 2 again. Can someone confirm this? We need to plan this so that its not directly scheduled around when the food is ordered.

Haha yeah, And soon it will be starcraft 2 . Thanks a lot for doing up that poster, all-in-all it looks really good. what does everyone else think? Once its confirmed, ill try sending it out to the Dons and marketing it in the res council.

some questions on the information on the poster:
- ending time = 11:30-midnight?
- should we put an "and more!" at the bottom of those listed games?
- should we specify that you should bring your own equipment (excluding networking hardware) as well?

Speaking of networking hardware, I still have all my networking gear from last term (i.e. ethernet cables, 16-port 10-100 router, etc.) which I can/will bring. In general, what does everyone think we will need the most, and who would be able to provide it?

All of these are good points. I was going to put an "and more!" only if nobody else had a game suggestion.

Regarding rez advertising: I was specifically thinking about getting on DC++ and flooding the chat with information about the event.

Totally forgot to post about the planning meeting. I was waiting to get my booking confirmed, but they still haven't gotten back to me.
