UW Competitive Gaming Study looking for participants
As there are many gamers (and gaming interest) on campus, from time to time grad students do studies that involve gaming. Daniel Rasmussen is in a Human Computer Interaction (HCI) course and is looking for help regarding competitive gaming in particular.
If you have experience in competitive gaming and would be interested in sharing your experiences with Daniel, you can find full information below.
Hi,
As part of my CS 889 course in HCI, I’m doing a project on social cultures in different online video games. The findings from the project will allow us to better understand the differences between game communities, as well as what might motivate those differences.
I need students to participate in my study.Participation will take approximately 60 minutes of your time, and will be scheduled for a time that is mutually convenient. In particular I am looking for participants who have played Starcraft/Starcraft 2 or DotA/LoL/HoN, but if you are interested in participating and have any experience with online competitive games then I would be interested to hear from you.
In the study, you will be asked to observe and comment on recorded game play, as well as answer some interview questions. If you’re interested in participating, please email me (drasmuss@uwaterloo.ca) so we can set up a mutually convenient time.
Thanks for your help,
Daniel Rasmussen
