We’re holding a Game On in the SLC Great Hall at 5:00PM. It’s essentially a grab bag of games, come play obscure, less popular or your favourite games. Anything goes.
LAN Event! Sat. Oct 23rd!
Hey everyone, we have a LAN event coming up pretty soon.
It starts at 10:00am in RCH 307 on Saturday October 23rd and will run until midnight. Be sure to bring your own computer, this isn’t an event where we are providing hardware. Please bring an ethernet cable to connect to the network as well, we will have some extras but not enough for everyone.
Some of the games that will be played there include:
- Team Fortress 2
- DotA, Heroes of Newerth, League of Legends (at least one of these three, probably more)
- Starcraft 1 and 2
- Left 4 Dead 2
- Counter Strike Source/1.6
- Others, of course
We will likely schedule a time where we will all play a free game, in the past we have attempted to get Tribes 2 setup, but that may change. If you have cool ideas for games that we can run (especially free games that we can legally distribute to everyone), post in the planning topic on our forums, we’re looking for ideas. For example, that Mega Man 8-bit deathmatch seems like a neat candidate.
If you want more detailed information, just check out our LAN page, there’s a bunch of stuff there. For those that are driving to the event, there are instructions on how to get your car right next to RCH. Pictures will be up there by the weekend in case the description wasn’t good enough.
You’re not required to bring any money as it is free to come by, however we’ll be selling cans of pop and slices of pizza. The pizza will be ordered at around noon and again at around 7pm. We’re selling slices at cost, so expect them to be around $1.25 or so. Pop will be available all day at $0.50 a can.
If you’re interested in coming out because you like PC games, consider joining our Steam group. Club announcements are usually made through there, and we run a Team Fortress 2 night every Thursday at 9:00pm.
