Online Starcraft Tournament – Registration is open until Nov 1
We’re running an online Starcraft tournament this term, and registration is now open until November 1st! Even if you haven’t played in a while, this is a pretty good excuse to get the game out and start playing.
Signup by clicking here! – Full rules can be found here!
We know not everyone is of an equal skill level, and so we’re holding two tournaments. One for beginners, and one for advanced players. There are guidelines in our rules about whether you are a beginner or advanced player, but a good general rule is if you could potentially consider yourself an advanced player in the eyes of most people, you are probably advanced. The prize for winning the Advanced tournament is a $35 gift certificate, while the Beginner prize is $15. As long as the store that you want the gift certificate from is close enough in Waterloo we will get it for you. You can also accept the prize in WatCard money.
Once the tournament starts, you will have between a week to two weeks to complete your matches against your opponent. Matches are best two out of three games. Matches will be played on iCCup, unless agreed upon otherwise. In order to connect to iCCup, please see http://www.iccup.com/starcraft/sc_start.html
It is the winner’s responsibility to report the win. If both players report they won, we will request replays of the match and settle it that way. If you accuse your opponent of cheating or not obeying the rules, you must provide a replay to prove it. Replays will be judged by a highly professional panel of judges (club members).
The maps that you will play your matches on are Heartbreak Ridge, Outsider and Shades of Twilight. Other maps may be played if the two parties agree to it.
As always, if you want to stay current with the club’s events, you can check out our forums, join our mailing list, or use any other news method we provide along the top of the page (RSS) (Twitter) (Facebook).
