Have some time to spare? Help with studies on handheld gaming!
admin posted in Uncategorized on July 9th, 2009
If you’ve got some extra time to spare, consider helping out PhD students from our very own University of Waterloo complete studies on handheld gaming.
The first study involves DS gaming in relation to the purchasing and playing of DS games. It requires an interview that will take up about 45 minutes of your time.
The second involves handheld device use in relation to health or comfort issues that happen while playing. It simply requires you to fill out a 5-8 minute online questionnaire which can be found here and below in the study statement.
Below you will find the official study introductions, as well as more detail than I provided above.
Hi,
As part of my CS 889 course in HCI, I’m doing a project on Nintendo DS gaming and the decision making involved in purchase and play of DS games. The findings from the project will allow us to better understand the expectations and desires that NDS users have of their game-play experience.
I need NDS owners and game players to participate in my study. Participation will take approximately 45 minutes of your time over AT MOST two (2) sessions, and will be scheduled for a time that is mutually convenient.
In the study, you will be asked to participate in an audio recorded interview (the audio recording can be left out if you feel uncomfortable having the interview recorded using an audio recording device). Your involvement and anything you share in the interviews will be entirely anonymous. If you’re interested in participating, please email me at kborowsk@cs.uwaterloo.ca in order to set up a mutually convenient time.
Thanks for your help,
Krzysztof Borowski
